Description
Vineyards:
The grapes come from own vineyards located in, Vistaflores,
Tunuyán, Uco Valley at 1054 masl. We have a sandy loamy soil
in the heights of the farm and in the low surface rocks of
alluvial origin. So we can divide the vineyard into plots that
give us a greater diversity allowing a greater possibility of
wines from the same vineyard. The irrigation system is dripped
with water from the thaws of the high peaks.
Winemaking:
The grapes are harvested between the last week of March and
the second week of April. Each varietal was elaborated separately,
by a cold maceration of 72hs at a temperature of between 8-10*C.
Fermentation takes place at a control temperature between 25-28%C,
taking a total maceration time of 25 days.
25% of the wine was aged in French oak barrels, for 6 months,
while the rest of the wine stayed in stainless steel tanks. After this
time, the final blend is made: 35% Malbec, 33% Cabernet Franc and
32% Petit Verdot
Tasting notes:
Intense ruby colour with violet reflects. Highlights floral aromas
(violets) enriched by red fruits such as plums, typical of the
Malbec, also appear other fresh and herbal aromas such as mint,
thyme and eucalyptus provided by the Cabernet Franc.
On the palate it has the softness and elegance of Malbec, a good
acidity from the Cabernet Franc and a marked concentration and
volume given by the Petit Verdot andits slight passage through
oak.
This blend reflects the 3 different varietals which makes it fluid
and easy to drink, good acidity, and also has an elegant and
marked bogy given by the Petit Verdot.
