Description
Vineyards
The grapes come from our single vineyard located in Vistaflores, Tunuyán, Uco Valley at 1054 m.a.s.l. (3428 ft). We have a sandy loam soil in the higher levels of the vineyard and stones in the lower parts so we can divide the vineyard into parcels thus generating greater diversity. This allows us to produce a greater variety of wines from the same vineyard. The drip irrigation system in our vineyard sources from the snowmelting of the high peaks.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested between the last week of March and the second week of April. Each wine was made separately by a 72hs cold maceration at a temperature between 8-10 ° C. Then the wines were fermented in stainless steel tanks at 25-28 °C, taking a total maceration time of 25 days.
25% of the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 6 months, while the rest of the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks. Then the final blend was made by selecting the best assemblage, which for 2019 is 45% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Franc and 25% Petit Verdot.
Tasting notes
Marked reddish and violet tones from the Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Highlights floral aromas (violets) characteristic of Vista Flores enriched by red fruits such as plums, typical of Malbec, and fresh herbal aromas as mint, thyme and eucalyptus provided by Cabernet Franc. In the mouth it has the softness and elegance of Malbec, a good acidity provided by the Cabernet Franc and a marked concentration, volume and persistence given by the Petit Verdot and its slight oak aging. A lovely sweet long finish.
